➤ Timbers of Shorewood (a local senior living facility) donated $16,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association on Dec. 2 as part of #GivingTuesday, bringing its total contributions to over $82,000 from yearlong fundraisers. The donation highlights its ongoing support for the community. Herald-News
➤ The Will County forest preserve district will host outdoor programs, starting with a winter walking Trail Club at Whalon Lake on Tuesday, Jan. 6 from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by duck-themed play, a beekeeper discussion and a winter bird hike at Plum Creek and Hidden Oaks later that week.
