➤ Plainfield Village Board trustees approved a design contract with Christopher B. Burke Engineering (cost $88,780) on Dec. 15 for a traffic signal at Ridge Road and 135th Street, with ADA features, scheduled for installation in 2027. Herald-News
➤ The I-80 ramps at Center Street/Meadow Avenue in Joliet will close today after the evening rush for reconstruction, IDOT said. Traffic will be routed via U.S. 6, Larkin Avenue (Illinois 7) and Jefferson Street until late 2028. Herald-News
