➤ Will County Health Department is now offering the new 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine at multiple WCHD clinic locations to help combat rising cases, with vaccines free for eligible Medicare, Medicaid, and private insured patients (and low-cost for the uninsured). ➤ Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox warns that norovirus cases are rising in Will County as the holiday season nears and advises residents to wash hands and clean surfaces frequently. The hospital recommends staying home at least 48 hours after symptoms end to help prevent further spread. Herald-News
➤ The Illinois Department of Public Health released its first detailed report on alcohol use, finding nearly 23% of high school students drank alcohol in the past month and noting rising binge drinking among adults along with an increase in alcohol-related traffic deaths; the study will guide targeted health programs.
