➤ AT&T will begin phasing out its copper landlines in 2027 for Illinois customers by switching them to a digital home phone service that includes caller ID and a battery-backup for outages. The change, approved by state and federal regulators, will be completed by 2029. Shaw Local

EDUCATION NEWS

➤ Plainfield School Board will vote on Dec. 17 at Wallin Oaks Elementary School to change high school attendance boundaries so that overcrowded Plainfield North High School holds fewer students starting in the 2026-2027 school year; several subdivisions will have students reassigned to Central or East high schools based on public feedback and projections.
