  • Joliet Police Department and the Salvation Army are hosting the annual Patrol For Hunger food drive to help local families with non-perishable donations until Dec 19—drop boxes have been set up at three businesses including one in Plainfield. The department is also selling Santa’s Cops pins—funding a program that helps low-income children shop for gifts this holiday season.  Herald-News

  • Gov. JB Pritzker signed a bill Tuesday that lets the Illinois Department of Public Health issue vaccine guidelines—using input from a group of doctors, nurses, and public health experts.
