- ➤ State Sen. Rachel Ventura has opened applications for her Page for a Day program that gives high school students a full day in the Senate Chamber—selected students will attend legislative meetings and assist with daily operations. Applicants must complete the online form by Dec. 31 and choose one of the offered dates: Feb. 25, March 4, March 25, or April 15. Herald-News
- ➤ Today, the Plainfield Fire Protection District launches its annual 'Keep the Wreath Red' campaign—decorating all four fire stations with holiday wreaths lit in red from today until Jan. 2. If a fire from holiday decorations occurs, one red bulb will be switched to white—alerting residents to extra fire safety measures. Herald-News
