Good morning, Plainfield.

Plainfield School District 202 has selected 36 middle school musicians and singers for the 2025 Illinois Music Education Association District 9 Honor Band and Honor Choir.

They will join daylong rehearsals and perform on November 15 at West Aurora High School (ILMEA District Junior Band, Chorus and Orchestra Festival).

Illinois is using state and federal funds to help low-income households with home energy costs through the LIHEAP program, which is accepting applications on a first-come basis until funds run out or until August 15—local centers in Will and Kendall counties urged those with disconnection notices to apply promptly. Officials say the program will continue through November, although a prolonged federal shutdown may affect future funding.
