  • State Sen. Meg Loughran Cappel is hosting a veterans appreciation breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Plainfield Township Community Center—Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs Assistant Director Anthony Vaughn will speak as local resources are available. A warm breakfast will be provided and veterans must register by calling 815-267-6119.  Herald-News
  • Shelia M. Pardo will take over as CEO of Senior Services of Will County effective Oct. 14th—she brings over 20 years of leadership experience and founded a grief support program, while the organization prepares to expand services in Joliet and Romeoville. She replaces Brianne Hetman, who served until late September.  Herald-News
