🎓 Education
Lewis University in Romeoville inaugurated Dr. Christopher Sindt as its new president on Oct.
2. In his inaugural address, Sindt urged the school community to imagine boldly as the university rolls out its Taking FLIGHT strategic plan (a future-ready learning initiative).
🏥 Health
Alicia Schidzikowski, a nurse aged 33 (from Lockport), was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer caught early due to enhanced screenings.
She underwent surgery on May 20 and chemotherapy from July 9 to Sept. 10, and she will have one final surgery and follow-ups (at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox).
