GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Will County has set aside $300,000 to help small businesses and nonprofits improve building access in line with ADA guidelines. Eligible entities—those with fewer than 20 employees and less than $2M in annual revenue—must apply by Sept. 26 to receive grants up to $15,000 that cover eligible costs. Herald-News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Will County is considering a proposal to provide no-cost mental health care for its 700,000 residents through the Joliet Fire Department's program—supported by a $1.9 million state grant. The proposal will be reviewed today by the Will County Board as the county seeks long-term benefits such as reduced homelessness, substance abuse, and suicide. Herald-News
