  • Illinois Attorney General said the Sheriff’s Office wrongly denied a request for records about an investigation into former nonprofit chief Ted Brodeur—charged with stealing over $10,000 from Big Brothers Big Sisters—because they did not show how releasing the documents would harm a fair trial.  Herald-News
  • Attorney CJ Haney said board member Jacqueline Traynere pleaded not guilty to a Class B misdemeanor computer tampering charge for accessing shared county board email accounts after reporting a security issue at the courthouse + her attorneys expect a favorable outcome.  Herald-News

  • Plainfield Army veteran Tony Walker and his wife are suing the Department of Veterans Affairs over an untreated infection at Hines VA Hospital, which Walker says caused his heart damage and strokes. Walker, a father of six who was seen in July 2023, claims blood tests showed an infection but he did not receive antibiotics—leaving him permanently disabled.  ABC7 Chicago
