- ➤ Plainfield boater Nabil Abzal (Captain Bill) was honored at a Saturday vigil at DuSable Harbor after his body was pulled from the water last weekend and police ruled his death a homicide, saying he was attacked while trying to protect others. ABC7 Chicago
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The Will County Center for Economic Development will hold information breakfasts starting Tuesday—offering local employers details about its summer internship program that placed 75 high school students last summer. The program, now in its third year, includes Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 along with other local schools. Herald-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Census Bureau will visit Plainfield households next week to ask for the number of residents since many did not complete the online survey—census workers will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and leave a notice if no one is home. Herald-News
