Good morning, Plainfield. Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 10th of August.
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Will County police are asking for the public’s help to find Victor V. Salov, 36, who was reported missing Tuesday from his Homer Glen home after he was last seen July 15 when he was released from a hospital. Authorities say his medical condition makes him vulnerable and describe him as a white male (6 ft 4 in, 170 lbs, brown eyes, long unkempt brown hair and beard, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans) and urge anyone who spots him to call 911 immediately. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ In early July, four forest preserve staff from Will County stepped into Spring Creek to search for pregnant ellipse mussels needed to restock DuPage waterways, where only nine of 18 native mussel species remain. The teams collected 13 mussels from five species and will return if needed to secure enough for a fall breeding program—this work is part of a regional effort to restore local waterways. Herald-News
