- ➤ Plainfield Starbucks using mobile order only has confirmed it will remain open despite rumors—it is one of the better sales producers in the area. Village Economic Development Director Jake Melrose said the store at 12640 S. Route 59 may be refurbished to add seating and dine-in options while still offering mobile ordering. Herald-News

- ➤ Yesterday, local environmental supporters celebrated 20 years of work at Hadley Valley Preserve in Joliet—restoring over 192 acres of land, including 60 acres of wetlands with a $26 million grant—since the project has reduced flooding and brought back wildlife. Herald-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ IDOT unveiled plans to improve the railway between Braidwood and Elwood in Will County as part of a Chicago-to-St. Louis high-speed rail line. The project will add a second track and make upgrades to grade crossings, bridges, and drainage, with construction set to begin in 2028 after environmental reviews are completed. Herald-News
