GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Rep. Natalie Manley and the Joliet Junior College Office of Sustainability launched the inaugural B.Y.O. to Go Bash on July 2 at the JJC Romeoville Campus to reduce waste and cut single-use containers by offering composting and garden tips from master gardeners & experts. They plan to hold the free event annually and provided reusable tote bags with takeout containers to help residents keep waste low.  Herald-News

  • Local baseball prospects are in the spotlight with the MLB draft set for July 13-14 — players like Lincoln-Way East’s Jack Bauer and Lincoln-Way West’s Conor Essenburg, along with talents from Morris, Minooka and Providence, are drawing close attention as teams plan their selections.  Herald-News
