- ➤ A Cook County man pleaded guilty Tuesday for stealing 35 catalytic converters from vehicles across eight counties—he was sentenced to prison and must pay $311,500 in restitution following a multi-county investigation. Herald-News

- ➤ Mosaic Reality in Plainfield is hosting a Juneteenth celebration at Settlers Park today from noon to 4 with music by DJ T-Spinnz, face painting for kids and a spades card tournament with a five-dollar entry fee. - ➤ U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood submitted 15 projects worth $26 million for community improvements, including a $1 million request to expand NIU’s Child Development and Family Center—plans include enlarging the center and making needed repairs for childcare. Underwood said she will work with lawmakers to secure the funding for fiscal 2026. Herald-News
- ➤ Illinois State Police and more than 200 local agencies will join a statewide safety campaign from June 20 to July 7 to target impaired and unbuckled drivers.
