- ➤ Mosquitoes collected in Mokena tested positive for West Nile virus on Friday, the first in Will County, and health officials advised residents to remove standing water + use repellent to reduce bites. Herald-News
- ➤ The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed the hantavirus risk is low in Will, Kankakee, and Kendall counties after a Winnebago County investigation tested negative following CDC confirmatory tests. Officials advise residents to keep clean areas to reduce rodent exposure. Herald-News
