EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dr. Lisa Caparelli-Ruff visited Bolingbrook High School on Monday to inspect the new reinforced windows installed by Clear-Armor as part of a $70,000 security project funded by county cannabis revenue—intended to protect against attacks and heavy weather. Only three of the county’s 21 high schools remain to be updated, and plans are in progress for a similar project at junior high schools.  Herald-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Allison Anderson, director of Will County Emergency Management, received awards from international and state groups—she was named on the 2025 40 Under 40 list and won the O.D. Troutman Outstanding Service to Emergency Management Award.  Herald-News
  • The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin bridge deck repairs on Illinois Route 126, called Lockport Street in Plainfield, in June. Lockport Street will be open only one-way eastbound from Wood Farm Road to Main Street + westbound traffic will use a detour until the work is finished.  Herald-News
