- ➤ The Joliet Township High School District 204 Board of Education held a special meeting on Monday where returning members took an oath, and the board selected Matthew Kennedy as president, Lorraine Guerrero Neumayer as vice president, and Michelle Stiff as secretary—Christine Lynn was named the district's representative to the Illinois Association of School Boards Governing Board. - ➤ Students in Will County sent Thank You Teachers letters praising local educators for their creativity, kindness, and hard work in making school a supportive place to learn. - ➤ Plainfield North’s girls track team won the Southwest Prairie Conference Meet on May 7 in Minooka—finishing with 147 points while Oswego East and the host team scored 119.5 and 116 respectively. Herald-News
- ➤ Marina Hristov pitched six shutout innings to help Minooka beat Plainfield South 4-2 in a Southwest Prairie Conference game on Wednesday. The cool, windy conditions helped her pitch well — her strong performance kept the Cougars from scoring more runs. Herald-News
- ➤ Plainfield North scored 7 runs in the first inning to beat Joliet Central 17-1 in five innings, which moved the Tigers to an 8-14 conference record and put them half a game closer to sixth in the Southwest Prairie Conference.
