- ➤ Attorneys for Shorewood's Jon Hansen filed several pretrial motions on Tuesday in a 2024 mass shooting case in Joliet—seeking to use artificial intelligence to analyze discovery, limit the use of Hansen's mug shot, and secure juror lists early as both sides plan to set a trial date. Herald-News

- ➤ On April 30, Plainfield School District 202 held a special reorganization meeting—two new board members, Greg Nichols and Nora Dalton, and three incumbents were sworn in. Superintendent Dr. Glenn Wood and Board President Rod Westfall praised the new members for their volunteer service with terms lasting until 2027 or 2029. Shaw Local

- ➤ Will County announced that seniors and people with disabilities in Plainfield, Channahon, and Manhattan can now register for the Dial-A-Ride service that lets them travel across most of the county and nearby areas (operated by Pace).
