  • Plainfield's summer Cruise Nights will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from June 3 through Aug. 19 — no event is scheduled on July 1 — and give residents a chance to view classic cars and support local restaurants. The events are sponsored by the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce and will feature a different theme each week.  Shaw Local

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Joliet Township High Schools Foundation will host the 24th Brent Wadsworth Alumni Golf Outing on June 5 at Inwood Golf Club in Joliet — a fundraiser to support District 204 students, staff and high school seniors. The event honors Plainfield native Wadsworth, who founded a local golf course construction business and was inducted into the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame, and it will feature golf, meals, contests and a charge of $175 per golfer or $600 per foursome.  Shaw Local
