- ➤ Romeoville High School's Marine Corps Junior ROTC program earned second place at the MCJROTC National Drill Championship on April 11 in Norman Park, Georgia. Valley View Community Unit School District saved the program from closure, and it will continue for at least three years if enrollment reaches 50 cadets. Herald-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Will County Board approved six court-ordered solar projects last Thursday, Apr. 16, after initially rejecting them and urged state leaders to let local officials control solar development. The board also sent back a 6,100-acre project for further review following a judge's ruling on public hearing rights. Herald-News

- ➤ A single-family home at 11405 Glenbrook Circle sold on April 1 for $692,000 at a rate of $214 per sqft; built in 2006, it offers 3,238 sqft of interior space and sits on a 12,383 sqft lot. Shaw Local
