- ➤ A special prosecutor was appointed to review the case of a Will County Sheriff's Office correctional deputy accused of using excessive force while on duty after an allegation reported on November 11 led to his being placed on administrative leave when he returned from county benefits. - ➤ Whiteford Baseball, serving Plainfield, Joliet and nearby communities, announced it purchased four AED units and received CPR and bleeding control training from the Joliet Fire Department so that the equipment will be immediately available on each field. The AEDs were funded by local donations (Joliet Firefighters Locals 44 and 2369, Joliet City Employees - AFSCME Local 440, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 176 and Old National Bank) to boost safety at games.
