The Forest Preserve District of Will County has scheduled free programs for early April— a wellness workshop 'Our Place in Nature' on April 1 at the Sugar Creek Administration Center in Joliet and a trout season celebration on April 5 at Hidden Lakes Trout Farm in Bolingbrook— that offer outdoor activities for all ages.

The Will County Pets of the Week feature from March 24th presented adoptable animals including—Leonard the playful terrier from animal control, Cantaloupe the rescued tabby, Catie the energetic Coonhound mix needing patient training, Autumn the affectionate kitten, bonded brothers Helios and Umbra, and social Pippin—and local humane societies are now connecting these pets with new homes.

On Monday in the 11700 block of Millenium Parkway, fire crews responded to a house fire at a two-story home and saw flames from the garage roof — the fire was confined to solar panels, no one was injured, and damage was estimated at about $30,000.
