EDUCATION NEWS

  • A sixth grader from Crete-Monee Middle School, Kingston McGhee, won the county spelling bee on Tuesday, Mar. 17 at Lincoln-Way West High School (winning word: blastema) and will compete at the national event in Washington, D.C. on May 27-28.  Herald-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Plainfield will start its annual street improvement program this spring with work to upgrade sidewalks, curbs, gutters, drainage and pavement in subdivisions including Creekside Crossing, Hidden River and others. Some driveways will be closed (as needed) during the project scheduled to finish in September.  Shaw Local
