- ➤ A sixth grader from Crete-Monee Middle School, Kingston McGhee, won the county spelling bee on Tuesday, Mar. 17 at Lincoln-Way West High School (winning word: blastema) and will compete at the national event in Washington, D.C. on May 27-28. Herald-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Plainfield will start its annual street improvement program this spring with work to upgrade sidewalks, curbs, gutters, drainage and pavement in subdivisions including Creekside Crossing, Hidden River and others.
