Kennedy Middle School was named Teacher of the Year for the Far South Suburbs region by the ISBE — she was honored with 13 colleagues at a March 8 reception in Bloomington-Normal. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Will County Board approved a measure to use cannabis tax funds to upgrade 21 local high schools by reinforcing each school’s busiest entrance with bulletproof glass (costing between $3,000 and $4,000 per building). Regional Superintendent Dr. Lisa Caparelli-Ruff said the project’s first phase used $70,000 and that future phases will secure middle and elementary schools (plans are underway). Herald-News
