➤ The C.W. Avery Family YMCA celebrated its 20th anniversary on Feb. 4 with a ribbon cutting at its 15120 Wallin Drive location, marking two decades of support for local children in swimming, sports, and community growth—solidifying its place in the area. Herald-News
➤ A free kids fair will be held at Troy Middle School (5800 W. Theodore St.) on Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Office of the Will County Executive will host interactive activities, live performances, games, crafts and photo opportunities with local mascots. Shaw Local

GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ Governor Pritzker and DCEO awarded $465,000 to HIRE360 in Joliet and $550,000 to Lewis University in Romeoville to expand Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship programs in construction trades. The grants will help build a local talent pipeline for industry careers. Herald-News
