- ➤ The 100+ Women Who Care of Will County will hold their quarterly meeting on Feb. 10 at Coom’s Corner restaurant (1225 E. 9th St. in Lockport) to nominate and vote for a local charity; members will write a $100 check on the spot to support the chosen group. Herald-News

- ➤ Plainfield District 202 announced that 16 high school student musicians will attend the prestigious Illinois Music Education Association All-State conference from Jan. 28 to 31 (in Peoria), representing Plainfield East, North and South high schools. Herald-News

- ➤ A five-bedroom home at 12840 Shenandoah Trail, built in 2004, sold for $675,000 on Jan. 2 (about $197 per sqft). The sale follows several nearby transactions in Plainfield. Shaw Local

- ➤ Plainfield's Don Wachter, known as Bearman for his signature costume, will attend Soldier Field today as the Bears host the Rams in an NFC playoff game following a comeback win against the Packers. He predicted a 35-24 victory and noted that light snowfall dusted his bear head hat. Herald-News
