Plainfield Unveils Mile-Long Roadway to Boost Connectivity

The village of Plainfield marked the opening of the 143rd Street West Roadway Extension on December 18th to alleviate traffic in the downtown area and enhance travel to the west. This $12 million project includes a mile-long road, intersection upgrades, a new traffic signal, and extensive stormwater, water main, and sanitary sewer improvements. Funding exceeded $10 million from various sources, including state and county grants, along with major contributions from local districts and intergovernmental agreements. Thousands of Illinoisans start their day with Daily Plainfield

“Reading the newsletter has become a really positive daily habit for me. I read it while drinking my coffee and planning the day. It saves me a ton of time, but it's really enjoyable too. It's great to have the news filtered down to just a handful of critical events everyday that actually matters to me. I also like reading the community profiles. They interview people locally like teachers, politicians, and small business owners. It's hard to find this anywhere else.”

“I'm a senior citizen here in Plainfield, and this newsletter is like a lifeline. I don't have the attention span these days to read the paper, and Facebook is a mess. This newsletter keeps me informed, without taking the whole day from me.”

Matthew K.

“I like how this newsletter keeps me connected with our community. It's great to have a dedicated source that focuses on what's going on locally. So many news companies are focused on huge attention-grabbing national headlines. But, besides the entertainment value, it's not really relevant to my day-to-day. Also it's great the newsletter is free.”

“This newsletter has been a game-changer for my business. It not only highlights local news but also features small businesses like mine. It's a great platform for local exposure.”

Easton E.

“I'm a parent, and it's apparent how busy that makes me. I LOVE newspapers (especially the smell), but I never have time to read it anymore. So thank god this newsletter exists, and I can read it in a few minutes. If anything is really critical or catches my eye, I can always spend more time reading into each piece of news, but it isn't usually necessary.”

“I moved away a few years ago. I use Daily Plainfield to keep one foot in the town I grew up in, and my friends and family continue to live in. It keeps me connected to my hometown, and I look forward to reading it quickly every morning.”
